“WANT PROOF? Chief security of the rizal park tries to push photographers who are holding a silent protest in front of the rizal monument vs no-photoshooting policies on public places, historical landmarks and tourist sites.”

Almost all of my photographer friends are sharing this on Facebook. I CANNOT EVEN. WHAT. WHY THEY WOULD MAKE UP A POLICY LIKE THAT? DAMN IT PHIL, EVERYTIME I TRY TO DEFEND YOU, YOU END UP DOING SOMETHING STUPID LIKE BAN PHOTOGRAPHERS. The thing that makes me mad is that they even included historical landmarks and tourist sites? They allow foreigners to take pictures but not local photographers. What? Do I have to talk in a fake British accent whenever I’m taking pictures just so I won’t get told off? WHAT BS.
Oh man, this. I remember last year we had to take pics at Rizal Park for our HUMAART class. A security guard came to us asking if we had a permit to take photos.
It’s so dumb. Like, seriously, do I really look like some agent from another country trying to steal the landscaping of the Philippines in some extreme plot to make my own country so people can move in there?
